How does virtualization work?
Virtualization technology allows the resources of a single physical server to be efficiently divided into multiple virtual servers. Virtualization completely isolates each server so any issues adversely effecting one server will have no impact on neighboring servers.

How does Virtual server differ from Virtuozzo?
A Virtual server runs under the control of Microsoft Virtual Server 2005 R2 as a truly independent and private operating system. Virtuozzo can only emulate the host operating system which then requires everyone to use the same system settings, patch levels, security configuration, and device drivers.

How many clients share the physical server?
We assign eight virtual servers per underlying server with every client in control of their own operating system, dedicated memory, processor and disk storage.

What are the specifications of the physical server?
We install the latest generation of Dell PowerEdge servers with multiple dual-core processors and redundant Serial Attached disk drives and then locate them in our privately owned and operated data center.

How does performance compare to a dedicated server?
Virtual server easily beats entry-level dedicated servers in all aspects of performance, reliability, and management.

What can I do with my server?
You will have Remote Desktop access with administrator privileges which means you can do just about anything! Install any software, host multiple Web sites, run your own mail server, and much more. Virtual server is ideal for deploying your .NET projects with support for both 1.1 and 2.0 running at the same time.

How many SQL Server databases can I create?
Virtual server is delivered preloaded with SQL Server Express Edition with Advanced Services including Studio Manager and Reporting Services. Create as many databases as you need with full SA privileges over your own database server.

Can I access SQL Server databases remotely?
Using VPN you will have unrestricted access to your Virtual server. Upon request our Support Team will show you how-to create a secure Windows VPN connection between your new Virtual server and your remote locations.

Is there a control panel installed?
The power of a dedicated hosting solution is being able to work directly with the operating system rather than using a limited interface. However, you can install any software including the control panel of your choice. We recommend Plesk and Hosting Controller. We fully support Hostingcontroller.
